Places of interest

This Grenskerk (Weerterbos - Heugterbroekdijk) is located in the Weerterbos between Weert and Budel. The Grenskerk originated about 300 years ago.

When in 1629, after the conquest of Den Bosch (by Frederik Hendrik of the States of Holland on the Spanish rulers), the Catholic faith came under pressure and was eventually banned altogether in 1649, Catholics often had to seek refuge in hidden churches.Until 1682, this border church was used.

In 1981, 300 years later, it was transferred as a monument to the Limburg Landscape Foundation.
