The main trail running through the forest used to be part of Heide's motocross course. The proceeds from the motocross were used to build Heide's church. Today the area fulfills a completely different social function, namely as a natural cemetery. Here people are connected with nature, art and culture.

Welcome to a walk on Weverslo

Estate & Nature Cemetery Weverslo is a beautiful, varied nature reserve just outside Venray. Everyone is welcome here every day for a walk or a moment of peace and quiet. An estate walk runs through the forest. Along forest paths you will find various wooden sculptures, poems and wickerwork. Settle down on one of the benches to listen to the sounds of nature or just enjoy the peace and quiet. What makes this nature reserve extra special is that it is also in use as a natural cemetery. Hidden among the trees and ferns are the natural graves. Here people find their last eternal resting place in a place of their own choosing. Sometimes unrecognizable, sometimes marked with a small wooden memento. This gives this unique piece of nature its own personal character.

Tours and themed walks of the estate and the natural cemetery are regularly organized, always free of charge. A guided tour can be arranged by appointment for groups, associations or companies. You can also contact us for individual guided tours.

The natural cemetery is freely accessible daily between sunrise and sunset. Information center The Forest House is open daily from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. On our website you will find all information about themed walks, tours, the nature reserve and natural burial. We hope to greet you at Weverslo.
