The walk starts at junction 72 at the Kessel ferry. With a view on the Maas, you walk in the direction of junction 10. Here, you take the stairs to the Markt. Make sure you take the second set of stairs, as the first set leads to the Kerkplein.
Castle De Keverberg
When you are on the Markt, you will see Kasteel De Keverberg on the left-hand side. You can go inside for a visit. Next to the castle you will find Baron Frits. This is a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy coffee and flan or a delicious lunch or dinner with a view on the Maas.
The Witch Dance
Take the first street to the left into the Dorpstraat. Now you are walking through the village, parallel to the Maas. At junction 70 you are on the historic Veers Square. The square is popularly known as De Heksendans (The Dance of the Witches) because this is where the seven witches of Kessel used to hold their Sabbath. There are a number of beautiful mansions on this square.
The route ends at the ferry at junction 72.
