Cookies

The website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on a PC, tablet, or mobile phone by a web page. These cookies are used to improve the functionality of the website and to monitor web visits. This allows us to determine how many people have visited the website during a given period. We are unable to trace this data back to a specific PC or individual.

Why Cookies?

Web pages have no memory. A visitor who navigates from page to page within a website is perceived by the web server as a new visitor each time. Cookies enable a website to continue recognising your browser.

Use of cookies

We use various cookies for different purposes. Please note that if you refuse (certain) cookies, you may not be able to fully utilise the functionalities of this website. Below is an overview of the types of cookies we place and their respective purposes.

1.Functional Cookies: are used to offer and operate the site and to remember your preferences. This category also includes the Google Maps application, which allows you to search for:

  • Information about local VVV branches
  • Points of sale for the VVV Gift Card
  • Address details of the VVV Ticketpoints

Google Maps places cookies to track statistics related to the use of Google Maps itself and to store preferences (such as display settings).

2. Google Analytics cookies are utilised to gain insights into how our visitors use various parts of this website, including visitor numbers, popular pages, and topics of interest. This information allows us to better tailor our communication to the needs of our website visitors. We are unable to identify the individual users (or their devices) that visit the website. While Google, as the service provider, can access this information, they cannot link it to any sensitive personal data. They are prohibited from using this information for other purposes or sharing it with third parties without a court order. Visitor data is retained for 50 months to better assess trends in website visits. If you wish to have your information removed from our Google Analytics data before this retention period ends, please inform us via email. We will then arrange for the data to be deleted within 30 days, through Google.

3. Social media cookies are required for liking posts, sharing news articles, and updating your status on Facebook. If you are logged into Facebook while visiting our website, more cookies will be placed than if you are not logged in. In both cases, the information is retained for a limited period (90 days) and is used solely to improve products, not to be sold to or shared with advertisers without your consent. Sharing information on Facebook can only be done with your explicit consent.

4.The advertising networks we collaborate with place tracking cookies on your computer. These cookies are used to monitor the pages you visit, enabling the creation of a profile based on your online browsing behaviour. This profile is not linked to your name, address, email address, or similar personal details, but is solely used to tailor advertisements to your browsing habits. Additionally, these cookies are used to limit the frequency with which an advertisement is shown to you.

Lifespan of Cookies

Most of the cookies we use are session cookies. This means they are automatically deleted from your hard drive when you end your session (i.e., when you log out or close your web browser). Permanent cookies have varying lifespans, ranging from 90 days to several years. You can delete the persistent cookies through your browser settings.

Third-Party Cookies

Both we and other parties may place cookies. These cookies are limited to analytics cookies placed by Google. However, those parties are not permitted to place cookies without our authorisation.

Refusing (Certain) Cookies

You can specify whether and, if so, which cookies you accept through your browser settings (such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Mozilla, or Chrome). The location of these settings varies depending on the browser. You can find the exact location and method through the browser's 'help' function.

Please note that if you refuse (certain) cookies, you may not be able to use all or some of the website's functionalities.

Photographs

Every individual prominently featured in photographs has been asked for permission by our professional photographer. We only use images of people where it serves a public interest in promoting the region. As a foundation, Hart van Limburg / Limburg Marketing has no commercial motives. If any individual portrayed objects to the display of their image, Hart van Limburg / Limburg Marketing will immediately remove the relevant photo(s) from the website and its files. The website contains links to other websites. Additionally, it includes references (such as hyperlinks, banners, or buttons) to third-party websites. We have no control over or influence on the content and policies of these websites. Therefore, we cannot accept any responsibility for the way those parties communicate with you and/or handle your data.

Transfer of Business

As our business continues to grow and develop, it may occur that one or more parts or assets of the company are transferred to a third party. In such cases, customer data will also be transferred.
