The Monument of Tolerance was unveiled on March 8, 2001 as a reminder of the 1940-1945 war years.

In the period 1940-1945, 687 soldiers of 11 nationalities lost their lives in the Leudal area.
In the heart of the monument a CD-ROM is placed where the information is recorded. The monument is placed in front of the Leudal Museum. In the museum this information can be consulted.
The monument is a bronze sculpture, made by sculptor Thea Houben from Roggel in central Limburg.
